Chuemai Yang, OD
Impossible is nothing, but difficult is real - Rafael Nadal
Dr. Yang is a dedicated optometrist with a passion for improving vision and enhancing the lives of his patients. He felt a strong calling to serve others through eye care and was driven by this desire to make a significant move to Louisiana, leaving behind his familiar roots to establish a practice and build a community. He is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Spanish, allowing him to connect with and serve a diverse patient base.
His journey began at JCPenney Optical, where he refined his skills and deepened his commitment to patient care. When the location unfortunately closed its doors in 2022, Dr. Yang saw not an ending, but an opportunity. Instead of seeking employment elsewhere, he bravely embarked on the path of entrepreneurship, pouring his heart and soul into creating Yang Eyecare. The road to establishing his own practice was paved with numerous challenges, but Dr. Yang embraces every hardship, knowing that the fulfillment he gains from helping others makes it all worthwhile.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Yang is known for his jovial spirit and quick wit. He's a man who genuinely loves to laugh and share jokes, often bringing a smile to faces of his patients and colleagues alike. When he's not in the clinic, you'll likely find him on the tennis court. He generously dedicates his free time to coaching the Terrebonne High School tennis team, nurturing young talent, or engaging in spirited matches with his friends. His commitment to both his profession and his community is truly inspiring.
